The Alpine A110 Sport becomes more powerful and more agile in 2018
The most sporty version of the Alpine A110 will arrive in the summer of 2018 with more power thanks to a retuned engine and a lower weight

The Alpine 110 is certainly not a slow or sluggish car, but the brand backed by Renault wants to take this model towards greater power and a more intense performance. Alpine’s goal is for the car to reach 300 CV, comfortably exceeding the 248 CV and the maximum torque of 320 Nm offered by the base model. And it will achieve this by retuning the 1.8-litre engine fitted to it.
But the changes to the base model will not be limited to the engine, as the overall weight will also be addressed. The 1,080 kg that the Alpine A110 weighs will be reduced to 1,050 kg, which will help make the car’s handling even more effective. Removing that weight will be achieved by working on several elements of the car, which will benefit the use of the car’s power to make it more attractive.

The chassis will also receive several modifications that will raise its stiffness by between 15 and 20 %, which will also help improve the driver’s experience. The changes will also extend to the steering, the dual-clutch transmission, the traction control and the exhaust, which have been modified so that the effect in Track mode is even more intense.

This version of the Alpine A110, named A110 Sport Chassis, will be ready for the summer of 2018, joining the base Alpine A110 after its launch in the spring of next year. If this more powerful and appealing variant is as successful as expected, a “Trophy” version of the Renault Megane RS could follow later, which would also bring a significant increase in power and a sportier character. For now, we have images of the Alpine A110, but the first photos of the new model will arrive soon.
