The Aston Martin DB11 gets off to a good start: it already has almost 1,500 reservations

The brand Aston Martin has made the most of the Geneva Motor Show, where it unveiled the update to its DB9 model.

Now, the great British GT takes a step forward and evolves in partnership with Mercedes-AMG, giving rise to the DB11, the first joint model, which has got off to a flying start with more than 1,400 reservations in just a few weeks since its launch.

Aston Martin has always been known for building GT models with extraordinary qualities. However, in recent years the results were somewhat tarnished by a range that was starting to look too outdated compared with its rivals.

The DB11 is proof that a good investor, with many millions in the bank, can produce a development with an almost guaranteed success. The DB11 is the successor to the successful DB9, a model that became one of the best representatives of Aston Martin during the more than 10 years it remained on sale.

The design of the DB11 is an evolution that blends the classic features of the DB9 with some more modern ones that we first glimpsed in the new Vanquish. The DB11 is clearly less conservative than ever and more dynamic and sporty than usual. In this way it manages to attract the attention of potential customers who until now had dismissed the British brand for offering too conventional an alternative.

Mechanically, it also changes completely. The gargantuan naturally aspirated 6.0 V12 goes into history to make way for a newly developed V12, smaller at 5.2 litres of capacity and with twin-turbo forced induction. The result is a more powerful engine at 600 CV that is also much more efficient.

The DB11 is the fastest model in the DB family’s history

Performance has also improved: the DB11 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of over 320 km/h. It is the most powerful and fastest DB in the brand’s history.

All these arguments have made an impact on the market this car is aimed at, which has responded extraordinarily well. The DB11 has started its journey with more than 1,400 reservations, a very notable figure considering that only a few weeks have passed since its official launch.

Many of those who have reserved a unit have not even been able to touch the car, let alone drive it, but the arguments on paper have proved convincing enough to secure a unit of this flagship of the new era of Aston Martin, which has a starting price of approximately €220,000.
