If you are thinking of getting your hands on one of the Lamborghini Centenario with which the Italian brand wants to celebrate the first centenary of the birth of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the person who started production of these fantastic cars that make us all dream, I’m sorry. Forty units are all that will leave the assembly line, and for several months now, they have all been sold out.

This super-exclusive model was unveiled at a private event at Pebble Beach, to which only clients and friends of the brand who could afford to get behind the wheel of this car were invited. Those who could pay the 1.75 million euros this model costs before applying the various taxes. That’s quite something.

What each of those forty lucky owners will receive is a supercar with a striking look that, although it is reminiscent of the Lamborghini Aventador, has enough distinctive features of its own to stand out and be one of the most coveted cars of the moment. It measures 4.92 metres long and a mere 1.14 metres high, giving it a spectacular look that stands out immediately.

But a car of this kind doesn’t stand out just for its looks. The Centenario is the brand’s first model to feature rear-wheel steering, which allows for greater control while driving. All-wheel drive is another of this car’s attractions, which, thanks to its carbon fibre monocoque chassis, achieves a weight of 1,570 kg, allowing it to make the most of all its aerodynamic measures to be a streak of lightning in motion.

Aerodynamics serving a powerful engine

It features a movable rear wing that tilts by 15% and has a travel of 150 mm, along with a rear diffuser and air intakes located on the top of the bonnet. The engine powering this limited-edition car is the same block used in the Aventador, a 12-cylinder petrol engine that in this case delivers 770 CV, the highest power output in a production model of Lamborghini.

The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.8 seconds, and it reaches 300 km/h in 23.5 seconds, going on to a top speed of 350 km/h. Furthermore, its interior is designed to offer all the comfort needed while enjoying its power and control. The seats are upholstered in leather, Alcantara and decorative accents made of carbon fibre.

A large 10.1-inch screen provides all the information needed to drive safely and without complications, with a practical and uncomplicated interface that also features Apple CarPlay. A jewel mounted on Pirelli P Zero tyres that could be seen in detail at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and that we bring you with this video.
