The Bertone B99, rejected by Jaguar

Last week some images leaked of the Jaguar B99 Sedan Concept, a beautiful concept that Bertone showed in Geneva within the ranks of none other than Jaguar. Being one of the most beautiful and eye-catching concepts at the show did not prevent Jaguar from rejecting it diplomatically, in the British style.
The agreement Bertone must have reached to show the B99 surely did not include putting it into production. Simply, it is a showcase that Bertone used to promote itself in Geneva. Jaguar has closed the circle, saying they greatly appreciate Bertone’s effort, but that the B99 is not a car for Jaguar’s current situation.

A model with such pedigree is not contemplated in Jaguar’s future plans, besides the brand having fully committed to developing a smaller car, an entry-level saloon that would be ready by 2014 and of which we already showed you a couple of renderings.
A real shame for the B99 and for Bertone, who wanted to show us that it is not dead. And to a certain extent they have achieved it, although not with the model Jaguar was waiting for.
