The BMW 2 Series snow testing

BMW Serie 2 highmotor

With one year to go before the commercialisation of the BMW 2 Series Coupé and Convertible begins, the engineers and test drivers of the Bavarian brand are racing against the clock to fine-tune what will be the sportiest versions of the 1 Series, versions that will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

This week, a group of video enthusiasts had the opportunity to film several test mules live in the snow of Sweden, a place where weather conditions are completely unfavourable for BMW’s small rear-wheel-drive car.

When both sports cars reach dealerships in 2014, they will be available with petrol and diesel engines, rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The main engines will be based on the two-litre four-cylinder block, whose power ranges from 184 CV to 245 CV in the 228i. There will also be M Performance versions and several turbocharged inline six-cylinder engines.

In the video below, you can see drifts and slides while hearing the roar of the inline six-cylinder petrol engine that will power the 235i.
