The BMW i3 is knocking on the door: it can be ordered from July

BMW has been working for some time on a range of electric vehicles, the so-called “i family”. For the moment, two models have been presented to us: the i8, a very sporty model with spectacular performance that will reach the market in a little over a year, and the other model officially presented so far is the i3, an urban car with a practical streak and more rational performance, with a more “down-to-earth” price.
Official photos of both models are already known (as concepts), including images from their development and testing stages. However, what we did not expect was for BMW to announce the sale of one of its electric models so soon.
BMW has announced that the i3 can be ordered at the brand’s dealerships from July, also offered in two different variants. The first, starting at an approximate price of 40,000 euros, will be equipped only with the electric motor, offering a range of 130 to 160 km. The other variant will mount, in addition to the electric motor, a small two-cylinder combustion engine derived from those of BMW motorcycles. This version will offer a range of around 300 km. Its price will start at 45,000 euros.
Both models will have the option, from BMW, to rent the batteries with large discounts and benefits, which will considerably lower the starting prices.
