BMW has unveiled the special edition of the M2, called the Black Shadow Edition. It will be limited to 600 units and will have a starting price of 72,812 euros.

Special editions of the most exclusive models usually offer more radical tuning and styling, but it comes at a price. This is what has happened with the BMW M2, one of the most beloved and sought-after sports cars from the German brand, which debuted a new variant just a few weeks ago. Specifically, we are looking at the M2 Black Shadow Edition, a version of the sports car that goes all in on black, showing a more sporty and aggressive look.

The M2 is presented as the perfect sports car thanks to unprecedented tuning, rear-wheel drive, a manual gearbox and the ability to seat up to four occupants inside. However, BMW was not entirely satisfied with its creation and, despite the good success the M model has enjoyed in its years on the market, they have presented to the world the Black Shadow special edition with the aim of accentuating the M2’s aesthetic attributes.

Only 600 units will be built for the whole world, so we can expect its price to rise considerably before long, something due to its exclusivity and the substantial exterior upgrades it offers. We find a body painted in Sapphire Black, a metallic black colour that lives up to the name of its special edition, which is accompanied by new 19-inch alloy wheels.

Carbon fibre has also wanted to join the party, and we can see this material shaping the M2’s rear diffuser or the mirror housings. This styling is presented as the perfect companion to the German sports car’s mechanics, which sees no change in its tuning or in its acclaimed engine.

If we lift the bonnet of the BMW M2 Black Shadow, we will find the same inline six-cylinder engine capable of brightening our days with 370 CV of power and 465 Nm of torque, figures that allow it to reach 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, a time that places the M2 dangerously close to the territory of true supercars. Without a doubt, exclusivity is present in this special edition, but it comes with a price that is not exactly low.

If we want to get one of the 600 units that BMW plans to produce of the M2 Black Shadow Edition, we will have to pay 72,812 euros. On the other hand, a “regular” M2 starts from 65,300 euros, a figure that makes a difference of 7,512 euros between the two versions.
