The Bugatti Mistral becomes the fastest convertible supercar
The convertible from the French brand has managed to break the speed record for a convertible and has become the fastest in the world in Germany.

The most striking cars in the world also undergo the most demanding tests. A good supercar must not only make a strong impression, but also present features that place it above the other models it is compared with. In the case of the Bugatti Mistral, the convertible supercar launched by the French brand, it has also delivered a major surprise for the brand’s executives.
The expectations for the Bugatti were that the Mistral would be capable of offering a top speed of 420 km/h, a figure that represents a very interesting record. This would mean it would be faster than other models from the brand. And that, being a convertible. But the surprise came when the supercar began testing at the Papenburg circuit in Germany.

In this test, a top speed of 453.91 km/h was certified, a figure well above the top speed forecast by the brand. Behind the wheel was the Bugatti test driver, Andy Wallace, who was in charge of taking the model to its limit.

BUGATTI MISTRAL SPEED RECORD
It should be noted that the model that achieved this record is a particular unit, although in this case that is redundant. This is because the 99 units of the Bugatti Mistral have already been sold and will gradually arrive in their buyers’ garages. The price of each of these supercars is around five million euros, and that is before taxes and the extras added during personalization.
The Bugatti Mistral is equipped with an 8.0-litre W16 engine with four turbochargers. This engine delivers a total output of 1,600 CV and 1,600 Nm of torque, which explains the speed achieved. The aerodynamics of a convertible are quite important, since the lack of a roof makes air resistance greater and prevents the speed from being as high.
