The Bugatti Tourbillon Hybrid has arrived: this is what the Chiron's successor looks like

Now that the Bugatti Chiron has gone down in history, the supercar brand unveils the Tourbillon, a hybrid model that replaces its predecessor.

The farewell to the Chiron has left many of us looking back with nostalgia at the popular supercar. But we can rest easy, because the luxury carmaker has prepared a new model that will make us dream and that we will not miss the previous one. It is called the Bugatti Tourbillon and will reach the market in 2026.

This new supercar is not a reinvention of the Chiron; it is a completely new model. It features a new monocoque chassis and the suspension system is also entirely new. But where it really stands out is in the engine it uses.

It is an 8.5-litre V16 engine, but with a V configuration at a 90º angle. Normally, the brand’s V16 engines used a W configuration, but this time they opted for this solution. Another thing that has disappeared are the four turbochargers the engine used to have. Now it is accompanied by three electric motors from Rimac, partnered with Bugatti.

The combustion engine delivers 1,000 CV, while each of the Rimac motors adds 250 kW, that is, 355 CV, so the Tourbillon’s total output is 1,800 CV. The engine revs up to 9,000 rpm, so reaching that power is easy, with an engine that delivers output well beyond the norm.

The electric motors are powered thanks to a 24.8 kWh battery. This has a capacity similar to that of a plug-in hybrid, so it allows them to work very efficiently and a very adequate performance is achieved to sustain that power. The acceleration this thrust delivers allows it to reach 100 km/h in just two seconds, so we are dealing with an exceptional car.

200 km/h is reached in just five seconds and reaching 300 km/h takes just ten seconds. As for top speed, this figure is 380 km/h, although if the rear wing’s effect is removed, it can reach 444 km/h. Another thing to note is the weight of this model, considerably lower than the Chiron’s, despite having a hybrid drive system.
