AMI Citroen Electric Cars Urban
The Citroën AMI arrives on the Spanish market in 2021 for 19.99 euros a month
Although its arrival has been announced on several occasions, the Citroën AMI will reach the Spanish market in 2021, with a subscription price of 19.99 euros a month.

Urban mobility is one of the headaches that car manufacturers have and want to overcome. The restrictions that exist in more and more cities have become the great enemy to beat, and cars have to comply with the requirements of governments. Electric mobility is essential for this. But electric cars are expensive and difficult to bring into the city. So, what about a mobility solution that is not a car?
The answer and a possible solution is the Citroën AMI, an electric vehicle proposed by the French brand, which will reach the Spanish market in March 2021. It is not a car, nor does it intend to be one. In fact, it is not even a quadricycle, those popular vehicles that can be driven without a driving licence. So, what is it?

The ideal solution for electric mobility
Its size already gives a hint of its characteristics. Barely 2.4 metres long, 1.39 metres wide and 1.52 metres high. Ideal for moving through congested city traffic. Another advantage of this small electric vehicle is its turning radius of 7.2 metres, which makes it very easy to use in the city.

Another important detail: no driving licence is required to drive it. Well, let’s be more specific. With a moped licence it is enough to drive it, to have basic traffic knowledge. It is, in fact, an alternative to bicycles, motorcycles and electric scooters, which are currently the most common alternative means of transport in cities.
It will be sold online, either on the brand’s website or on the FNAC website, which is also in charge of selling the vehicle. The price of the Citroën AMI will be 6,900 euros, but it can also be bought for the price of a subscription to any streaming service on the internet. The price will be 19.99 euros a month, with a deposit of just over 2,600 euros.
Engine and range
The Citroën AMI uses an electric motor with a power of 6 kW, powered by energy stored in a 5.5 kWh battery. These characteristics give it a range of 70 kilometres. It is equipped with a conventional plug, which allows the battery to be charged to 100% of its capacity in just three hours.
It may not seem like much, but this vehicle is designed for electric mobility in the city. Urban journeys do not usually cover long distances, so it is more than enough to get to work or make any other trip without problems and without exceeding the maximum speed permitted in the city.
It is a good solution for getting around the city, avoiding the mobility restrictions in city centres. Moreover, it can be used by minors, provided they are over 16 years old and hold a moped licence. All of this at a very competitive price and with plenty of facilities to buy it for the price of a subscription to a streaming platform.
