The customised version of the Lexus LC500 debuts at the SEMA Show 2016

This competition-inspired version will be available from spring 2017 and features aerodynamic, engine and chassis improvements.

The customised version of the Lexus LC500 has been unveiled at the SEMA Show being held in Las Vegas. This competition-inspired model has been created by Lexus in collaboration with Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing. It is the world’s first customised LC500. Both this version and the standard LC500 will be available from spring 2017.

“The LC 500 is very beautiful and has fantastic performance and dynamic characteristics. I wanted to use that base to develop a high-performance LC500 with an aggressive look that would retain its luxurious side,” says Gordon Ting Beyond/Marketing.

This customised version of the Lexus LC500 introduces a new aerodynamic kit that includes upgrades to the wheel arches, front and rear diffusers, side skirts and rear spoiler. In terms of chassis updates, the optimised suspension stands out, featuring a hydraulic system with a height-adjustable spring kit. New wheels, tyres and Brembo brakes have also been fitted.

The competition interior of this model was designed by Evasive Motorsports GT3 and incorporates Sparco carbon-fibre seats and a roll cage.

The engine of this version was developed by the successful engineer Magnus Ohlaker. Throughout his career, this engine-building expert has designed numerous powerplants that went on to win championships in F1 (Cosworth) and Indy. Using the standard Lexus LC500’s 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 471 CV as a base, Magnus has created a 5.6-litre engine for the new version that delivers 525 CV and reaches 9,000 rpm.
