The project is still quite far from being developed, but this proposal could turn out to be quite interesting for reducing traffic

Elon Musk is known for his bold proposals in the field of clean mobility. He is the CEO of Tesla, one of the brands that offer only electric models to its increasingly satisfied customers. But Tesla is not the only interest of this entrepreneur, who also proposes other forms of clean mobility, such as The Boring Company, a project that is anything but boring. This company seeks to create a high-speed mass transit system.

We know little about the projects of this new Elon Musk company, but one of its proposals has just been published to develop an urban transport system that will be powered by electricity. This new vehicle is part of its project for a tunnel to be built beneath the city of Los Angeles, which will allow users to travel aboard these electric vehicles at speeds of over 200 km/h.

This shuttle bus will connect the street with the tunnel system, where it will join the high-speed convoy. According to the project, these tunnels will be about 65 kilometers long beneath Los Angeles, with stops at the most important points, such as Los Angeles International Airport, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Westwood and Culver City.

This shuttle will be built almost entirely of glass, as its roof and sides are made of this material, offering a stunning view to the ten people who will be able to use this experimental bus on each trip. It will be able to move along the streets in a limited and autonomous way to pick up passengers and then access the tunnel network and take them to their destination.

The shuttle will feature batteries that will power the electric motor, and autonomous driving systems so that a human driver is not necessary. Yes, we know that this project is quite far off in time, but we also know that projects of this kind, even if they never take shape the way their promoters envision, do help shape other projects that benefit from the developments used in their creation.

For now, we have three conceptual images of the shuttle. We may never see it in operation, but it will surely bring innovations in autonomous driving and zero-emission technology.
