The exclusive Bentley Batur Convertible gets dressed up in its finest with the artisans at Mulliner

It is unique and rare, which is why this is the first Bentley Batur Convertible to pass through the hands of the Mulliner artisans for a personalisation project

The Bentley Batur is an authentic jewel on wheels, and if we move on to the Convertible version its exclusivity rises even further. Remember that only 16 units of this version will be on the road around the world, and if we add to that the fact that it is the last model to feature the 6.0 W12 engine from the Crewe marque, we have the perfect combination. So if you are fortunate enough to cross paths with one on the road, capture the moment if you can, as you are unlikely to see another one.

It is therefore a vehicle almost meant to be kept hidden away, safe and covered so that not a speck of dust settles on it. Yet all this display of interest was not enough for one of these owners, so much so that he wanted it to be a one-of-a-kind unit in the world, and for that, what better than to place it in the hands of the artisans at Mulliner, the in-house division of Bentley dedicated to special projects and bespoke work for its clients.

Through a design and development process in which both Mulliner and the client worked closely together, the Bentley Batur Convertible is presented in this case with a bodywork painted in Opalite silver, over which a stripe running longitudinally along its length has been painted in gloss black, starting right where the Bentley badge sits on the bonnet and ending at the one on the boot. This stripe is flanked by detail lines in Mandarin Orange, a colour that also features as an accent on the front grille and the enormous five-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior design of the Bentley Batur Convertible distinguishes between the driver’s side and the passenger’s side, a difference made more striking by the colour combination Mulliner has used in this Batur Convertible. The driver’s seat is therefore upholstered in Beluga leather in black finish combined with Alcantara, with contrasting stitching in Mandarin Orange, which is also used for the detail line that surrounds the entire driving position, including the dashboard and the centre console. For the passenger, linen leather and white Alcantara have been used, with the contrast also provided by the Mandarin Orange. This pattern is also applied to the interior boot behind the seats and to details such as the Batur keys or the travel luggage.

This interior design is completed with further details applied by the Mulliner team, such as the gloss black inserts distributed throughout the cabin, a colour also applied to the frames of the dials on the centre console, which have a titanium-finish interior. Titanium is precisely what appears on elements such as the gearshift paddles, the rotary controls on the steering wheel and the air vent controls, among others.
