The Ferrari SF90 Stradale dominates the Top Gear circuit with a new record
The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is already making history and setting milestones after achieving a new record on the Top Gear track, becoming the fastest car.
If you are a lover of the four-wheeled world, you are also a fan of Top Gear, a programme that has always stood out for pushing some of the most iconic supercars to the limit. Of course, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, one of the latest creations from the Italian firm, was not going to escape them. Although we already knew the Cavallino Rampante supercar would be fast, I don’t think anyone expected it to be this fast, or to reach the point of being crowned the fastest vehicle on the English track.
We must not forget that all kinds of cars have tackled this circuit, with the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the Ferrari 488 Pista being the most recent holders of that title. However, the Italian house has wanted to score a new point with its latest creation, which not only sets a new design language, but also paves the way towards hybridisation.
The engineers at Ferrari have made sure to squeeze even more out of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that lives in the belly of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale. Under normal conditions, this engine produces 780 CV but, thanks to three electric motors -yes, three-, the Italian supercar jumps up a class to enter hypercar territory with a massive 1,000 CV.

On the tarmac? A 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h, figures that, combined with polished aerodynamics, deliver an utterly explosive performance. Irrefutable proof of this is the new record the Italian car has set on English soil, stopping the clock at a blistering 1:11.3 minutes.
It is true that other similar vehicles follow closely behind, but we must not forget that the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a production car, very expensive, but a production car nonetheless. What does this mean? Well, if Ferrari is building mass-produced vehicles with this level of performance, what do the future limited-production models, such as the successor to the Ferrari LaFerrari, have in store for us? We are eager to find out.

But setting aside the fantasies and dreams, we find a car that has managed to master the treacherous Top Gear track with great skill. It is only a matter of time before the Ferrari SF90 Stradale heads to the Nürburgring to dethrone its compatriot rivals and very likely claim a new record.
