Fiat Panda Electric Cars Urban
The Fiat Panda switches to 100% electric mode starting in 2023
The Fiat Panda is one of the most popular city cars in the world, and with the arrival of the new generation in 2021, a 100 percent electric version is being prepared

A car as popular as the Fiat Panda, which is also a purely urban model, could not be long in getting a 100% electric version. This will happen, as the brand itself has revealed, starting in 2021, when the new generation of the Fiat Panda is presented, and which will include among its options a fully electric model.
The 100% electric version will not arrive with the launch of the new generation of the Fiat Panda, but will join the range a couple of years later, so we will have to wait until 2023 at the earliest to feel the energy of this type of alternative driving.

The new Fiat Panda will be based on the Fiat Centoventi concept, which you can see in the images accompanying this article and which was presented at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. From this show model it takes not only part of the styling, but it will also feature modular batteries, which can be added to the base to increase its range.
The basic version, fitted with a single battery, is expected to offer a range of 100 kilometres, while with each additional battery the range will increase up to 500 kilometres. Each buyer will be able to choose the level of range and the equipment, with the option of adding up to three extra battery cells after purchase.
This news fits with the brand’s strategy, which is considering ceasing production of larger cars, Premium vehicles or luxury cars and focusing on urban mobility, something that has been very much in vogue lately and may be the trend in the coming years. Family transport is also important for the Italian brand, so it will be another of the segments on which they will focus in the coming years.
During the first half of 2019, Fiat sold 105,534 Panda, a figure representing a 15% increase over the same period in 2018, while the Fiat 500 registered slightly less, 100,150 units, a slight 9% drop compared with 2018.
