The FIAT Topolino expands its colour palette and receives new technological equipment

The FIAT Topolino is now more eye-catching thanks to an expanded colour palette and an interior that receives a new digital instrument cluster

Taking advantage of the warm reception of the Citroën AMI, the Stellantis group decided to apply the same recipe at FIAT in the summer of 2023, bringing to the Italian brand’s catalogue the Topolino, a name that FIAT enthusiasts gave at the time to the popular original 500, built between 1936 and 1955 with more than 519,000 units sold, and which to this day still retains thousands of devotees around the world.

But let us return to the Topolino, a model that FIAT has kept without any alteration since its presentation in 2023, something that has now changed. As you know, the Topolino is a lightweight, fully electric quadricycle and, despite featuring some technology, it is quite basic in essence; it does not really need much more for its purpose. Still, one thing is surprising: until now it could only be had in one colour. Now the already known Verde Vita is joined by Corallo, an equally vivid and eye-catching warm-toned colour that evokes sunsets on the Italian coast.

FIAT’s changes do not end there. The other one concerns its digital instrument cluster, which is the only screen it has. Until now this digital cluster measured 3.5 inches, and it now grows slightly to 5.7 inches within a total area of 8.3 inches. In practice, the driver will have a screen on which information can be read more clearly thanks to the new simplified graphics, which are more legible and have a lighter, friendlier visual language.

Otherwise, life goes on as before for the FIAT Topolino, because if something works, it should stay the same apart from light and useful touch-ups. A good example is that in 2025 the Topolino managed to take first place in the European quadricycle market, with a market share of 20%, which is not bad at all. All of this thanks to the two versions available: a basic one and a more chic one called Dolce Vita, which stands out for the absence of doors and its fabric convertible roof.

The FIAT Topolino remains a great ally in the city thanks to a maximum length of 2,530 mm, and also thanks to its drivetrain, which as you know is fully electric, powered by a motor of 8.2 CV (6 kW), which is more than enough to reach the maximum speed permitted for this vehicle, 45 km/h. It also has a 5.5 kWh battery with which it achieves a maximum range of 70 kilometres, sufficient for daily city use, and it can then be fully recharged in three hours using a domestic plug.
