The Fisker Nina will feature engines from BMW

After it became known that Fisker has in mind a crossover or shooting brake of the Fisker Karma, and that the model, which we could call entry-level, would sit below the Karma, it is now known that Fisker has partnered with BMW for the supply of engines for the Nina.
The chosen unit is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, “for obvious reasons,” according to Fisker. The manufacturer was drawn to the fuel-consumption reduction technology applied by BMW to its engines, according to Fisker’s statement.
Behind the scenes, the agreement would oblige BMW to supply Fisker with 100,000 engines a year for the Nina. There is even talk of the Karma itself dropping GM’s 2.0-litre turbo engine and switching to BMW units too, just like its smaller sibling.
