F-150 Raptor Ford Range / versions Pick-up
The Ford F-150 2017 will arrive with 610 Nm of torque and a new 10-speed automatic gearbox

The American manufacturer behind the blue oval has just announced two important upgrades to its flagship pickup, the Ford F-150.
This model has not been on the market for long, only a couple of years, but Ford has decided that its EcoBoost engine has room for improvement, and so does the combination with the automatic gearbox.
That is why the Ford F-150 in its 2017 version will receive an update that will increase the torque of the 3.5 EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine and a new 10-speed automatic gearbox, no less.
The improvement to the EcoBoost powertrain allows torque to increase by 40 Nm, reaching a maximum torque of 610 Nm. An outstanding figure for a pickup like the Ford F-150, which has been designed to carry heavy loads, tow large weights and drive over difficult terrain. Maximum power does not change after these torque improvements, so the 365 horsepower of the current F-150 EcoBoost remains.
The American brand has not provided data on the rev range in which this 610 Nm of torque is available, although it says that it now improves response at low revs. This 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine incorporates two injectors per cylinder to combine the advantages of direct injection with those of port injection. Several internal engine components have been suitably lightened to reduce its weight and, therefore, increase its efficiency. In addition, the turbochargers have been improved, as their turbines are now lighter.

As for the new 10-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, Ford says that it improves acceleration and the performance of the whole setup compared with the previous 6-speed automatic. In addition, its electronic management has been improved to ensure that the gearbox is always in the most efficient ratio depending on each circumstance.
Ford’s chief technical officer, Raj Nair, said that “The Ford Truck team lives to serve our hard-working truck customers.” “The propulsion system is the heart of every F-150, and together our new 3.5-litre EcoBoost and 10-speed transmission will give our customers better power, efficiency and confidence.”
The launch of the 2017 Ford F-150 onto the market is scheduled for next autumn.
