The Ford Mustang Mach-E is adapted to reach Europe

The launch of the Ford Mustang Mach-E in Europe comes with a series of changes and modifications to make it better suited to European reality

When Ford announced the return of the Mustang, many expected it to be a muscle car, a reinterpretation of the classic. In the end, that new model became an electric SUV, something very different. But this model offers a different image from other SUVs in the brand, more dynamic and more attractive. However, when a variant for Europe was considered, we came across another surprise.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E intended for Europe has received certain changes to adapt it to the reality of our market. In the United States, this vehicle is sought to cover the long interstate highways that cross the country. In Europe, by contrast, cars are used more in the city, and a configuration as an urban SUV is sought. That is what will reach us with this model, and thus it will adapt to our tastes and habits.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has been modified so that European users can get the best experience from it. Changes have therefore been made to the suspension, the steering, the stability control and the traction control. All of this is designed with a different driving style in mind, and with the roads and streets of European cities in view.

Admittedly, the changes are not only aimed at “tuning” that more active capability of the Ford Mustang Mach-E; the car’s range has also been improved. In fact, the version with the greatest range of the Ford Mustang Mach-E will be capable of covering up to 600 kilometres. This is important, because it will place the Ford model ahead of one of its biggest rivals, the Tesla Model Y.

That car offers a top-of-the-range version with 505 kilometres, which makes it a more interesting electric SUV. As for charging, the Ford model will use the IONITY network, which will be reinforced by the rollout of around 1,000 fast-charging stations across Europe. There, roughly 94 kilometres of range can be recovered in just 10 minutes, which can be very handy in an emergency to reach the destination.

What remains to be known is the final price for this European version of the model from the brand with the blue oval. In the United States, a price of $50,600 has been set for the version with the greatest range, although in the American market it only offers 435 kilometres.
