The Honda NSX pays tribute to Ayrton Senna in a spectacular video

This video pays tribute to Ayrton Senna by using the Honda NSX, a car that was tested by the Formula 1 driver and benefited from his experience, as he suggested several improvements to the Japanese engineers that made the model even more efficient

The world of Formula 1 has seen many important names, but above all of them, perhaps we can single out Ayrton Senna, a driver who revolutionized this competition. Like many others, he began his career in karting, until he moved up to Formula 3. From there he made the big step to the top category in 1984.

That year he began competing with Toleman-Hart, and in 1985 moved on to Lotus-Renault. But he became a legend when he joined Alain Prost at McLaren-Honda in 1988. It was with this team that he won his first World Championship. For six years he was considered the best and most respected Formula 1 driver in the world. Unfortunately, the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix arrived, and with it his death in a terrible accident.

That has meant that, as with other great drivers, he has become a legend whose life was cut short far too soon. But the legacy of Ayrton Senna remains with us, and one of the clearest examples is the Honda NSX, a model created with the help and advice of the single-seater driver. With his advice, the chassis and suspension were updated after tough tests in which he experienced the thrill of driving it on various circuits around the world, including the Nürburgring.

Filmmaker Robert Alblass, based in the Netherlands, wanted to pay tribute to the driver with this almost three-and-a-half-minute video, in which we see the Honda NSX in action across an idyllic landscape. These driving scenes are accompanied by a series of audio and video cuts featuring Senna, taken from the archive, which combine the brand’s past with the power of today’s NSX.
