The Hummer EV goes camping thanks to EarthCruise and its camper module

We already know the Hummer EV and its features. One of them is its ability to move over difficult terrain, and this is essential if it is to become a camper vehicle capable of overcoming any challenge and taking its occupants to enjoy the best camping moments. In fact, EarthCruise has presented a camperization module for GM’s electric vehicle.

With this module, the Hummer EV becomes a camper vehicle suitable for two people. In addition, it allows seven days of camping without needing to charge the batteries. To do this, it uses several additional batteries that power the electrical devices in the equipment.

The first thing that stands out is the pop-up roof, made of carbon fibre. There is also a 605 W solar panel to recover energy. The pop-up section features large windows, and the views can be enjoyed thanks to a set of exterior LED lights. At the rear, storage spaces have been provided for additional equipment.

The size of the Hummer EV already suggests a very large camper vehicle. With the roof folded down it is 2.29 metres tall, but when it is raised it reaches 2.97 metres. This gives the occupant a standing height of 2.03 metres. It drops slightly to 1.97 metres in the aisle and to 0.89 metres in the bed area.

The rest area includes a mattress for two people. In addition, to provide the vehicle with all the comforts, it uses several 6 kWh, 12-volt lithium-ion batteries. With the power from the batteries and the solar panel the fridge, the hob and the freezer are powered, among other things.

It also has an outdoor shower, which uses water from the 51-litre tank fitted to the Hummer EV. The home systems are controlled through a seven-inch touchscreen, which provides simple and intuitive access to all functions.

The most powerful version for enjoying the outdoors

To create this camper Hummer EV, the customiser has opted for the most powerful variant. This means it has two electric motors delivering an output of 619 kW, equivalent to 842 CV, and a maximum torque of 15,592 Nm. Alongside its off-road capabilities, it achieves 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

Initially, the battery in this version offers a range of 483 kilometres, although with the Extreme Off-Road equipment this drops to 451 kilometres. If we add the weight of this camperization module, it will reduce it a little further.
