The Hymer Free 540 motorhome is the cheapest in the manufacturer's range and it doesn't lack anything
In the market for camper vans, we find a very attractive brand for those who enjoy these vehicles: Hymer, which presents this model.

In the world of motorhomes, Hymer stands out from the competition as one of the most prestigious and most attractive on the market. Its range usually features very appealing leisure vehicles with highly functional equipment. Among them, the Free 540 stands out as the most affordable in its range. But being the cheapest does not mean it is not well equipped, even though it is more of a camper van conversion.
This model is based on a Fiat Ducato, in its 5.4-metre format. It can carry four people, in a configuration with two people in the cab and two more in the rear seating row. However, there is only one double bed for sleeping. That said, a third single bed can be added for an extra 400 euros.

A pop-top roof can also be added, which provides two more sleeping places. In this case, however, the price increases by 4,055 euros. There are other optional extras that also raise the final price. Among these optional extras is a diesel-fuelled stationary heater. This adds 1,475 euros to the final price, and the awning adds another 1,000 euros.
The interior of the camper van
The living area can be occupied by four people, as the front seats can swivel to face the folding table, which is installed on a support under the window. The double bed is fixed, and there is a tunnel underneath allowing movement from the rear to the front. Above the bed there are several storage spaces for keeping the various items needed for camping.
In the living area there is a kitchen worktop and several storage spaces for kitchen utensils and the food to be used. There is also a separate bathroom with a shower for greater comfort during camping periods. This means that, although it is the entry-level model in the entire Hymer range, it is by no means poorly equipped.
Available engines
Being a Fiat Ducato, the engine is the usual one for this model. It is the Multijet 2.2 engine, which delivers 120 CV. But if more power is needed, it can be specified with 140 and 180 CV output.
The price starts at 63,925 euros, although we have already seen that several optional extras can be added that push this price up, but in exchange you gain equipment.
