The Jaecoo 8 SHS can now be reserved in Spain, so keep an eye out for its equipment and price

Jaecoo announced just a few days ago that the 8 SHS would join its line-up in Spain sooner rather than later, a plug-in hybrid SUV that arrives to try to stir up the premium segment, especially with an interior packed with the latest technology and a matching design. And, as the brand has finally promised, we have it here, where we know its price and it can already be reserved.

As we already mentioned at the time, the Jaecoo 8 SHS is a large SUV thanks to its 4,820 mm length, which allows it to carry 5 or 7 people depending on the version chosen. As with its siblings, the 8 SHS stands out for a front end dominated by a large grille, flanked by sharp-looking LED headlights and, a little lower down, L-shaped air intakes with chrome trim. At the rear there is a large tailgate housing the LED light unit, joined by a strip on a black background. All of this is complemented by huge 20-inch alloy wheels.

Its high-tech interior features a clean-lined design that makes use of a combination of different high-quality materials to foster the premium atmosphere the brand wants to give it. In Spain the Jaecoo 8 SHS will come in a single trim level, regardless of whether you choose the 5- or 7-seat version, called Exclusive, which includes as standard equipment items such as the following:

Mechanically, the Jaecoo 8 SHS uses the Super Hybrid System plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining the well-known fifth-generation 1.5 TGDI four-cylinder petrol engine with three electric motors (two on the front axle and one on the rear), which also provide intelligent all-wheel drive capable of handling strong acceleration or adverse terrain, as well as its combined output of 428 CV. Added to this is the 34.46 kWh battery, with which it can cover up to 134 kilometres in fully electric mode and which, together with the fuel tank, exceeds a total range of 1,000 kilometres. It is worth noting that, according to the WLTP cycle, it records a combined fuel consumption of 2.1 l/100 km.

The new five-seat Jaecoo 8 SHS is available in Spain at a price of 44,490 euros, which already includes promotional discounts and the public aid of 1,800 euros under the Auto + Programme (the price without discounts and aid is 54,900 euros). The seven-seat version of the 8 SHS carries an extra cost of 850 euros.
