The Jaguar I-Pace will soon receive a new, faster home charger and a host of technological updates to make passengers’ journeys more comfortable. The renewed Jaguar SUV will, as the brand itself has reported, be equipped with a new on-board AC charger and a revised and improved infotainment system. This is part of a series of updates that will culminate in 2021 with its arrival on the roads. Would you like to know its price?

The British manufacturer’s first electric SUV was already offered to drivers with a 7 kW on-board charger, but now it will come equipped as standard with an 11 kW three-phase unit.

This three-phase unit, connected to a domestic wall box, better known by the name Wallbox, of 11 kW AC, will add 53 kilometres of range per hour, with a full charge from empty in 8.6 hours. With a 7 kW wall box, a full charge takes 12.75 hours, at a maximum speed of 35 km of range per hour. The Jaguar I-Pace will continue to be offered with a 100 kW on-board DC charger, which allows up to 125 kilometres of range in 15 minutes.

The renewed Jaguar I-Pace will also be the first model from the brand to feature the latest infotainment system, called Pivi Pro, which is currently only found in the Land Rover Defender.

The Jaguar I-Pace takes a technological leap

Combining a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with 10.0-inch and 5.0-inch touchscreens, the system features a redesigned menu layout, over-the-air updates and updated navigation systems. This includes live traffic updates and built-in information on electric charging points. The navigation system can use this data to optimise routes to include charging points, and Jaguar says it will also offer information on charging point availability, costs and estimated charging times. The Jaguar I-Pace will now also be sold with an integrated eSIM, which includes a complementary 4G data plan.

Exterior design updates include new paint colours and new 19-inch wheel designs that replace the standard 18-inch versions on S models. A new Atlas Grey grille-tip finish is offered, and customers can also opt for a new Bright Pack, which includes a new chrome trim and new elements on the mirror caps, window surrounds and rear diffuser.

Inside, a 360-degree 3D surround camera system is now standard, while the Jaguar Land Rover digital rear-view mirror ClearSight will be offered as an option for the first time. That system allows drivers to display the image from a rear camera on a high-resolution screen integrated into the rear-view mirror. A wireless smartphone charger is also an option, while both front seats now come with heating as standard.

Jaguar has also installed a new cabin ionisation system in the climate control unit, which features a new filtration system that captures ultrafine particles, including PM2.5 particles. The system can be used with the I-Pace’s pre-conditioning system to clean the cabin of allergens and ultrafine particles.

The new Jaguar I-Pace will also see improved performance and even range, as it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and offers a range of 470 km according to the WLTP homologation cycle. Connectivity is also improved. In addition to dual SIM, it will have wireless device charging, Spotify and Bluetooth for two devices at once. The driver will be supported by the Surround 3D camera system. The starting price of this new generation is €80,750.
