The KIA K3 will replace the KIA Rio worldwide, and that is the plan for 2024.

The KIA Rio has been a compact that enjoyed considerable success over its commercial life, but it has already ceased to be the flagship model of the range for the South Korean brand. To replace it, the KIA K3 has arrived, another compact that draws on the K3 in saloon format, but which conforms to the dimensions and characteristics of this type of car. That said, although it replaces the Rio, there are several differences that set it apart from it.

The KIA K3 has a length of 4.29 metres, while its wheelbase reaches 2.67 metres. In addition, its width measures 1.76 metres and its height 1.49 metres. This means that it is slightly larger than the outgoing model. The styling has also been improved, so the K3 has details reminiscent of crossovers.

There are decorative elements in black plastic, covering parts such as the wheel arch protectors, the roof bars and other points on the bodywork. New suspension has also been fitted, slightly raised, and a metallic-finish rear diffuser.

At the front, new LED headlights can be seen, and the wheels measure 17 inches. At the rear, a small spoiler has also been fitted, which enhances its appearance and gives it a sportier look.

Inside, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display has been fitted. The infotainment system screen is the same size and provides access to the system, and it features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The cabin’s ambient lighting offers 64 colours and, for comfortable travel, the seats are upholstered in two-tone fabric. To complete the look, aluminium pedals have been added.

Other technological additions include driver assistance with voice recognition, hands-free access and start, dual-zone climate control, automatically folding door mirrors, parking sensors with rear camera, an electric sunroof, and a panel for wireless charging of mobile devices. ADAS are also present and offer an extra layer of safety while driving.

As for the engine range of the KIA K3 Hatchback 2024, it is available with two petrol engines. The first is a 1.6-litre engine producing 121 CV, with a six-speed manual gearbox. Above it sits the 2.0-litre engine producing 150 CV, which is paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox. This automatic is optional on the entry-level engine but comes as standard on the more powerful one.
