The Kia Optima 2021 unveiled in Korea

Kia wants to establish a position of importance in the mid-size sedan segment. The new generation of the Kia Optima could achieve it.

The mid-size sedan segment is one of the most coveted by manufacturers. Kia knows its importance, and to get fully into it, it has just shown new details of the new Kia Optima in Korea.

Aimed at the domestic market, the sixth generation of the Kia Optima is presented as a more refined, more stylised edition.

With a design that reminds us of the 3 Series of BMW and the classicism of the Mustang, we find a finer grille. The grille features a design resembling a tiger, perfectly integrated with the LED headlights, more refined, which connect to the bonnet, giving it a more “muscular” style.

The model’s aggressive lines are present throughout the entire body. At the rear we find a new approach to the brake lights. A large red line wraps around the boot, giving significant refinement to this new generation.

The rear bumper, diffuser and exhaust system are new. The roofline is more arched towards the rear. Customers will also be able to choose between 16- or 19-inch wheels.

As for its dimensions, the new Kia Optima measures 4,905 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,445 mm in height. Figures that fit the segment perfectly, opting for a smaller and more agile model than the previous generation.

The interior remains under wraps, however, the brand assures it will feature major changes. Connectivity, elegance and a wide range of useful technologies will stand out. The Kia Optima will not fall behind in this area, and aims to offer customers the latest in technology.

The European and American versions of the Kia Optima 2021 will be practically identical. Shortly, the Los Angeles Auto Show 2019 will take place, where the manufacturer will fully reveal all the details still to be known about this long-awaited model.
