The Kia Sportage PHEV announces its price in Spain to complete the range
Kia completes the Sportage range with the plug-in hybrid PHEV version, which is already available at the brand’s dealerships

Kia ended 2021 by announcing the arrival of the renewed Sportage on the Spanish market, which came with a wide variety of powertrains, including conventional full hybrid HEV versions. With its arrival, despite that variety, the range was not yet complete until now, when it is fully ready with the arrival in Spain of the plug-in hybrid version, which is also the most powerful in its line-up.
The most representative calling card of the Kia Sportage PHEV is under its bonnet, where its plug-in hybrid system is housed. This hybrid system consists of the 1.6 T-GDI petrol engine, similar to the other petrol options, which delivers 180 CV and is combined with a 91 CV electric motor, resulting in a combined system output of 265 CV together with a torque of 350 Nm.

This powertrain is linked to a six-speed automatic gearbox, which sends the power to all four wheels. In addition, the plug-in hybrid system uses a lithium-ion battery with 13.8 kWh of capacity, which allows a range of 70 km in fully electric mode, while also certifying a combined WLTP homologated consumption of 1.1 l/100 km; all of which entitles it to the CERO environmental label from the DGT.

It should be noted that the Kia Sportage PHEV also features the ECO Drive, Normal and Sport Drive driving modes, to which is added the new Terrain mode, specifically designed for use in rain or snow and even on off-road surfaces such as mud, dirt or sand. In addition, specifically for the plug-in hybrid system, it offers three driving modes depending on which motor or motors are operating, these being called Automatic, Hybrid and Electric.

In Spain the new Kia Sportage PHEV will be sold in three trim levels, the Drive trim being the entry-level one, which includes as standard features such as the following:
- 19-inch alloy wheels with available designs
- LED fog lights
- 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Digital instrumentation with specific hybrid system information
- Parking sensors
- Dual-zone air conditioning

The next trim level, positioned as the intermediate option, is called Tech, including features such as:
- Curved Supervision display (with instrument cluster and infotainment system with 12.3-inch screens)
- Full LED headlights
- Keyless entry and start
- Electric front seats
- Wireless smartphone charging

The last trim level, and therefore the one considered the top of the range, is called GT Line, adding to the previous features such as:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Specific upholstery
- Steering wheel paddle shifters
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Remote parking system
- Harman Kardon sound system
Naturally, both the exterior and interior styling and even the technological equipment described above can be expanded thanks to the list of options available from Kia.

The new Kia Sportage PHEV is already available on the Spanish market, with a price starting from 44,305 euros, although it should be taken into account that this price is reduced by the brand’s discount of 1,800 euros across the whole range, as well as additional discounts depending on financing and, where required, aid from the MOVES III plan.
