The Kia Cadenza, also known as K7, rolled off the production lines several years ago. Don’t be surprised if it doesn’t sound familiar, because it has never been sold in Spain, although it has been quite popular in its country of origin and in the United States since 2009. Now the new generation of this saloon arrives, positioned above the Kia Opirus, which it replaces. In fact, in Spain the Opirus was not very successful, and it was not until all the units of this model were liquidated that a noteworthy number of sales was achieved.

In Korea the new version of the Kia Cadenza or K7 has been presented, and it will be on the market very soon. On this occasion the engines offered to buyers of this model have been renewed. One of the engines fitted to this new version is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder unit. It delivers 187 CV and a maximum torque of 241 Nm.

The other engines available for this model are a 3.3-litre six-cylinder turbo engine producing 286 CV and a maximum torque of 343 Nm. Diesel enthusiasts will be able to choose a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine that delivers 199 CV and a maximum torque of 440 Nm.

The length of this saloon reaches 4.96 metres, while its width is 1.86 metres and its height 1.46 metres. The weight of the model is said to range between 1,565 and 1,670 kilos, depending on specification and equipment. It includes a Head-Up Display, a Krell sound system and three upholstery options for the seats.

As one would expect, it is fitted with several driver assistance systems, such as lane change warning, autonomous emergency braking and cruise control, among other features. American buyers will have to wait a little longer to learn the specifications intended for their market. In Spain we will have to make do with images of this model, since for the time being it has not been decided to bring it to our country.
