The Lucid Gravity is the brand's next model and will arrive in 2024

After launching the Lucid Air onto the market, the American company Lucid has announced the launch of an electric SUV, the Lucid Gravity. This vehicle has been seen before and will presumably reach the market in early 2024. The most interesting part is that the company has already set a date for opening the order book for this model.

The situation at Lucid is not very promising, as it has reported losses of 670 million dollars. This figure has increased the losses it had in 2021, which amounted to 524 million dollars. True, while last year it earned 232,000 dollars, this year it has managed to bring in 195.5 million dollars. This was made possible by the delivery of 1,938 vehicles.

Thanks to these figures, which seem likely to keep the company running for a while longer, it has decided to open the reservations for the new model. With reservations open, deliveries are expected to begin in early 2024.

Lowered expectations

What has changed is the brand’s expectation for electric vehicle production. The initial forecast was to reach 22,000 units produced by 2022. The forecast has been cut to 6,000, so this reduction also helps adjust spending and make investments more realistic.

During the third quarter of 2022, Lucid manufactured 2,282 units, which is triple the number produced the previous quarter. With the arrival of the new model, figures are expected to rise and help the company get out of the red or, at least, make the losses less alarming.

On November 15, a special Lucid event will be held, where more equipment for the Lucid Air will be announced, but further details about the Lucid Gravity will also be presented. What we know so far is that this vehicle will have a starting price of 90,000 dollars, although this could change somewhat. Possibly upward.
