AMG GT Mercedes Supercars Videos
The Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series is already showing off its performance at the Nürburgring
Mercedes continues developing the upcoming AMG GT R Black Series, a model that has been spotted running at full speed under camouflage at the Nürburgring.

It was years ago that the Black Series division of Mercedes-AMG bade us farewell, but with this latest batch of sports cars our hopes of seeing them return were revived. The AMG GT was the model chosen to take on the title of supercar within the German brand and, after having seen various versions, it seems it will finally revive the Black Series name. We can anticipate this thanks to various images and videos of a mysterious unit running at full speed around the Nürburgring, the place where the R version was born and which will be surpassed by this one, whose technical data is still unknown.
In this way we will be witnessing the rebirth of one of the most acclaimed and successful versions of Mercedes, and which could extend to other models with the AMG name, as happened in the past. If so, the AMG GT will be the first of this new wave of sports models to receive the Black Series badge, thus causing its tuning to undergo a significant advance in every respect.
For now the star brand has maintained a deafening silence regarding this new version of its flagship sports car, but we knew it would arrive sooner or later. At the same time, the camouflage prevents us from making out in detail all the new features the Mercedes AMG GT R Black Series will incorporate but, despite this, we can see certain traits that reveal its undeniable aerodynamic improvement over other less radical and more “modest” versions.

The first thing that catches our attention is a new, more aggressive and imposing splitter, an unmistakable sign of the performance increase that the German supercar will undergo. On the other hand, we still see the exuberant rear wing we already saw on the AMG GT R, but this does not mean it cannot feature certain variations, just as with the larger brakes we see on the recorded unit or the quad exhaust outlets, which are now cylindrical.
As for the engine, we do not know what improvements will be applied, but we can expect that the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 block will continue to be used. However, being a Black Series, we are sure its power increase will be substantial, so we can expect a figure comfortably exceeding 600 CV, and possibly approaching 700.

It is still premature to know presentation dates, but considering the level of development the camouflaged unit shows, it would not be far-fetched to think that Mercedes will unveil the new AMG GT R Black Series in Frankfurt. In this way the star brand returns to the fray with its much-acclaimed division, one that will put its main rivals in serious trouble.
