The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Pullman receives aesthetic changes inside and out

The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Pullman represents the ultimate expression of luxury from the German brand, and now it is updated with small details, including its engine.

When a Mercedes model comes with the Maybach badge, we know we are in for a true display of luxury and opulence, so if we go to its flagship these characteristics are taken to the highest level. This is what happens with the impressive Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Pullman, a model updated both outside and inside, although it is the latter where we will find the greatest satisfaction.

The exterior styling of the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Pullman is more in line with the latest designs from the star brand, which is immediately noticeable in the new front grille, now featuring horizontal divisions, along with a new front light cluster with the new design line, also reflected in the front bumper. Perhaps the rear is where we find the fewest changes, with a new look for the light cluster and a more rounded, less angular boot lid; the rear bumper is almost the same as before.

The exterior changes are finally completed by the new wheels, which are 20 inches and feature the 10-hole design typical of other Mercedes-Maybach models; and finally the option to choose a two-tone paint finish for the bodywork, similar to what was presented at the time on the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Pullman has a length of 6,500 mm, so you can imagine that inside we will find every kind of luxury and detail. In the front, two people can travel comfortably, chauffeur and companion, while in the rear two people can feel even better than on their own living room sofa, or four people if it is fitted with the optional two folding seats facing backwards, seats that of course fold down electrically.

The novelties inside are not numerous, because when a car already offers every comfort, there is little more to improve. First, you can choose the upholstery colour in three new exclusive colours: Magma grey, Mahogany brown and the Silk beige/Deep sea blue combination; while the rear occupants will have a monitor showing the traffic ahead, provided the glass separating them from the front is closed.

Its engine has also been improved, although it is still the same 6,000 cc V12, but it now delivers a power output of 630 CV and a torque of 1,000 Nm. With this engine, its weight and its dimensions, you can imagine that fuel consumption is not exactly low, set at around 14.6 litres per 100 km. Still, I doubt the owners of these vehicles will mind, especially when the starting price of the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Pullman is set at 500,000 euros.
