SEAT has decided to modernise and update both the Arona and the Ibiza, two of its most successful models, which now feature the Digital Cockpit in their interior.

Technology is growing at the same pace as the automotive world, where both sectors join forces to bring important new features that make driving more enjoyable. SEAT is part of this trend, having just fitted a revolutionary component to two of its most successful models, the Ibiza and the Arona. Both vehicles include the Digital Cockpit, or in other words, the digital instrument cluster. This new technology is here to stay and makes it easier for the driver to use the multimedia system while keeping attention focused straight ahead.

This new technology has been gradually introduced across the latest products of the VAG Group, where SEAT plays a very important role. The Ibiza and the Arona account for a large percentage of the Spanish brand’s sales, so keeping them fresh and up to date was an essential task.

Now, thanks to this new technology offered by SEAT, owners of both models can enjoy technology that until not long ago was available to very few people. However, the development of these updates and new features is spreading across all segments of the automotive world, and the Arona and the Ibiza are among the first to incorporate it.

This system is here to stay, but it in no way aims to replace what we already knew and, although it is an innovative system, its use is simple and intuitive. SEAT has thought of all users, which is why it has created different menus that adapt to each user, allowing every driver to adjust the Digital Cockpit to their liking.

The first menu is called classic view, where the two traditional dials for the rev counter and speed sit on either side of the instrument cluster, leaving a space in the middle to display navigation, media, or various driver assistance information. The second menu is digital, where the entire screen shows the information the driver wants and, at the same time, the speed appears in a lower corner.

Last but not least, we have the dynamic view, in which the two dials are positioned in the corners at a smaller size and allow the driver to see any type of menu in the middle. This new technology will be applied across all SEAT models and to the Cupra Ateca and the León Cupra R ST, which will feature the Digital Cockpit during the second half of 2018.
