The new Alfa Romeo Tonale plug-in hybrid Q4 is already priced in Spain

The Alfa Romeo Tonale Q4 plug-in hybrid is now a reality in Spain, where it has finally gone on sale

The arrival of the Alfa Romeo Tonale has marked a new era for the Italian brand, as it becomes its first electrified model. It began going on sale in our country this past spring in diesel and hybrid versions. Now Alfa Romeo completes the Tonale range with the plug-in hybrid version, which sits at the top of the range.

The major difference you will find in the Tonale PHEV Q4 compared to the rest of its versions lies under the bonnet, where there is a plug-in hybrid system made up of a 1,300 cc four-cylinder MultiAir turbo petrol engine producing 180 CV, which sends power to the front axle together with a six-speed automatic gearbox, while the rear axle is driven by a 90 kW electric motor. The result is a combined total output of 280 CV, which allows it to reach 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds.

Also part of this hybrid system is the 306 V lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 15.5 kWh, which allows a real-world range of more than 80 kilometres in fully electric mode on urban cycle. Even so, the Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV Q4 stands out as a very efficient SUV, with a combined consumption of 1.14 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 26 g/km. It is also worth noting that the battery can be fully recharged in less than two and a half hours using the 7.4 kW charger supplied as standard.

The Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV Q4 features the brand’s D.N.A. selector, which lets you choose the driving modes that deliver the best performance from both the engine and the battery: Dynamic for maximum performance, Natural for an automatic balance between performance and efficiency, and the Advance Efficiency mode for maximum electric performance.

Compared with the rest of its versions, the Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV Q4 shares the same advanced systems, but in addition to specific information about its hybrid system it also includes dedicated functions within the Alfa Connect Services. These new functions are E-Control (to control various functions of the electric system), dynamic range maps (both on the navigation map and in the My Alpha Connect app, showing the destinations that can be reached based on battery charge), charging station finder, and My eCharge (to access Free2Move eSolutions services).

The Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV Q4 will be available in the Edizione Speciale for its launch, as well as in the Ti and Veloce trims, which include features such as the following:
