The new BMW M2 makes a sneak peek ahead of its highly anticipated presentation
The new generation of the BMW M2 is revving its engines, and in just a month we will be able to see it in full detail.

BMW has released a new teaser for its new BMW M2 ahead of its highly anticipated public debut on 12 October. Spy photographers have repeatedly caught the second generation of the BMW M2 on camera, and it appears to be a genuinely capable car with bold lines.
As expected, BMW appears to have developed a range of M Performance Parts for the car, and this prototype concept is showing some of them. The most obvious accessory fitted is the large fixed rear spoiler, which helps ensure the car is not mistaken for a 2 Series Coupé. In addition, we can see that this prototype has a stacked quad central exhaust system similar to the one available for the M4 through the M Performance Parts division.
Everything we know about the new generation of the BMW M2

Beyond its looks, the new BMW M2 is expected to feature the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine as the BMW M3, albeit with slightly less power, around the 450 CV mark. Customers will likely be able to choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic gearbox, with power sent through the rear wheels. An xDrive all-wheel-drive system will not be available at launch, but it could be added to the range at a later date.
BMW Blog, a publication specialising in the Bavarian brand’s models, understands that the new BMW M2 will be available in a variety of different colours, including Zandvoort Blue, Toronto Red, Brooklyn Grey and Black Sapphire. Several BMW Individual colours should also be available.
The original BMW M2 remains one of the best sports cars launched in the last decade, so the pressure will be on the Bavarian brand to ensure the new model is even better than its predecessor.
