The new BMW Series 8 updates its range and introduces interesting new features
This renewal of the new Series 8 introduces new features in both its exterior styling and its interior, and improves its technological equipment

The BMW Series 8 was launched in 2019, presenting itself as one of the most attractive options in its segment, boasting incredible dynamics, a truly sublime design, and a technological and mechanical package that is genuinely versatile and advanced.
After three and a half years on the market, BMW has decided to give it a small facelift in order to boost its sales, incorporating new features in its design, dynamics, and interior, where a new screen for the larger infotainment system debuts.
Its design updates
Starting with its design, BMW has wanted to renew its BMW Series 8 Coupe, Series 8 Gran Coupé and Series 8 Cabrio with the M Sport design package, now standard on all variants. In addition, the Bavarian brand also debuts on this model the new illuminated BMW “Iconic Glow” grille, further enhancing its presence.

Let us recall that the aforementioned M Sport package adds 19-inch M light-alloy wheels, the M Sport braking system and the M Sport differential as standard for the V8 versions, and optionally available for the 6-cylinder variants if the M Sport Pro package is fitted.
The personalisation list also receives new 20-inch M Performance light-alloy wheels and four new body colours: Skyscraper Grey metallic, San Remo Green metallic, Portimao Blue metallic and BMW Individual Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic.

These new colours can be combined beautifully with the new gloss black exterior trim, black brake calipers, Shadow Line black M headlights, or the attractive and subtle M rear spoiler that gives it a sportier appearance, something also contributed to by the new optional BMW 50 Anniversary badges on the bonnet, tailgate and wheel hubs.
An improved technological package
Inside, the new Series 8 receive as the major novelty the new infotainment screen of the BMW Live Cockpit Professional as standard, growing from 10.25 inches to 12.3 inches. Its base equipment also adds a new leather-wrapped M Sport steering wheel and multifunction seats with electric adjustment and lumbar support.

Its mechanical options
As for its mechanical range, the new Series 8 retain the same engines we already knew: two petrol engines and a diesel with mild hybridisation.
The least powerful version is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder inline petrol engine producing 333 CV of power and 500 Nm of maximum torque transmitted to the rear axle. This engine is fitted to the BMW 840i and BMW 840i xDrive.

Above this powertrain sits the 4.4-litre eight-cylinder V petrol engine producing 530 CV and 750 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. This configuration is fitted to the BMW M850i xDrive.
Finally, the diesel engine is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder inline unit with a 48V mild-hybrid system, developing 340 CV of power and 700 Nm of maximum torque. All of this is paired with an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. This version is the BMW 840d xDrive.
