Electric Cars Geneva Motor Show
The new brand IM Motors will arrive in Europe at the Geneva Motor Show, backed by MG
The SAIC brand, parent company of MG, will bring a new brand to Europe to compete with well-established, very similar models, but at a price considerably lower

More and more brands are arriving from China, so it is no surprise that more will reach us in the coming months. And some of them come backed by one of the brands already established in our market. If we talk about MG, the former British brand now under the control of SAIC, we find that not only are they succeeding with their current models, but they are also going to present a second brand, which they will unveil at the Geneva Motor Show.
This brand is IM Motors, specialised in the manufacture and sale of premium electric cars. In fact, its name is an acronym for Intelligent Mobility, and besides SAIC, the parent company of MG, it is also backed by Alibaba Group and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech. It will be available in Europe shortly, although first it will pass through the filter of its presentation in Geneva to show what it offers and why it is a differentiated brand.

The intention of IM Motors is to offer vehicles with premium characteristics, positioned above MG, which will allow it to have electric cars that are better equipped and with better specification.
At the Geneva Motor Show we will be able to see the two models with which its commercial life in Europe will begin. These are two electric SUVs, the IM LS6 and the IM LS7, and an electric saloon, the IM L7. The latter is the flagship of the brand, so it will attract the most interest.
Alongside these three vehicles, which already form part of the catalogue it sells in China, the IM L6 will be shown, a saloon that aims to position itself against the, as things stand, unbeatable Tela Model 3. The technical specifications of this model are not known, but it is expected that in its most powerful version it will offer a range of around 800 kilometres and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just under three seconds.
The strategy of IM Motors seems to be to offer premium cars, which will compete with established models, but which will have a lower price than similar models. We will not know all of this until we have all the information about the vehicles that the Chinese brand proposes for the European market.
