The new Dacia Duster can now be ordered, and its price in Spain is known

At the end of 2023, Dacia presented the third and long-awaited generation of its most popular model, the Duster, an SUV that has managed to win over more than 2.2 million customers and earn more than 40 awards for the model in just 13 years on the market. Figures that the Dacia itself probably never imagined achieving when it launched the car, but which it obviously wants to keep building on and increasing.

The Duster is now available to order in Spain, but first let’s recall its most important points. The third generation of the Dacia Duster comes with larger dimensions thanks to the use of the CMF-B platform, the same one used in the Jogger or the Renault Captur if we look at the group, which translates into comfort and interior space for the occupants.

Its exterior styling changes radically, and Dacia wanted to give the Duster an image closer to a pure, hard-core 4×4. This is reflected in the design of both bumpers and in the protections at the bottom and sides, and in the wheel arches, which are painted a different colour from the rest of the bodywork depending on the trim. There are other newly designed details, such as the “Y”-shaped light signature for both light clusters, and a new paint finish, called Sandstone in a metallic finish, which joins the six other colours available.

Inside, the design is also completely renewed, with the “Y” shape becoming part of its identity. It is also used to shape numerous lines on the dashboard, the door panels and the air vents. In addition, the design is cleaner and the essential buttons are kept, so the spotlight falls inevitably on the 7-inch digital instrument cluster and the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Finally, more sustainable materials are used, with a higher percentage of recycled material, and chrome or animal-origin leather is eliminated.

The third generation of the Dacia Duster will be sold in Spain in four trims. The first of them is called Essential and comes with equipment that includes items such as:

The next trim is called Expression and, compared with the previous one, adds items such as the following:

• Denim fabric upholstery
• Exterior mirrors in Meghalite grey
• 10.1-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Automatic lights and rain sensor
• 7-inch digital instrument cluster
• Electric rear windows
• 17-inch Tergan diamond-cut wheels
• Two USB-C ports

The third trim is called Extreme and, as before, adds elements such as:

• Automatic climate control
• Keyless card start
• Automatic high beam
• Tinted rear windows
• Electric, heated and electrically folding exterior mirrors
• Fog lights
• 12V socket in the boot
• Hill start assist and downhill descent control
• TEP Micro Cloud Extreme upholstery
• Modular roof bars
• 17-inch semi-diamond-cut Tergan wheels
• Copper-coloured exterior mirrors

And we arrive at the final trim, called Journey, the most complete of the range, which includes items such as:

• 18-inch diamond-cut Tagasan alloy wheels
• Inductive smartphone charger
• Automatic parking brake
• Modular boot floor
• Media Nav Live multimedia system with connected navigation
• Arkamys 3D Sound System audio with 6 speakers

Mechanically, as we already mentioned, the diesel engines disappear from the new Duster range, leaving the offer made up as follows. First, there is the 100 Eco-G engine, to be used with LPG, which offers up to 1,300 kilometres of range and is available for all trims. Second, there is the three-cylinder TCe petrol engine, 1,200 cc and 130 CV of power with a manual gearbox and 48 V mild-hybrid technology, available with 4×2 traction for the Extreme and Journey trims, although it is also available with permanent 4×4 traction, but only for the Extreme trim.

The last engine option is the Hybrid 140 unit, a hybrid we already know from the Jogger. It consists of a four-cylinder 1,400 cc petrol engine delivering 94 CV together with a 49 CV electric motor located in the automatic gearbox, for a combined output of 140 CV, not forgetting the 1.2 kWh battery that is recharged through braking and deceleration. This engine is only available for the Extreme and Journey trims.

As I was saying, the Dacia Duster is already available at the brand’s Spanish dealerships with a price starting from 19,290 euros, corresponding to the Essential trim with the 100 Eco-G engine.
