The new Peugeot 208 is already in Spain from €13,200

The Peugeot 208 has already made its way into the Spanish market, where it is available with up to five trim levels, an electric version and a starting price of €13,200.

Peugeot E 208 Inversa

The compact segment has been revolutionised by the arrival of the latest generation of the Peugeot 208, an effect driven by its striking design and the availability of a 100% electric variant. After being unveiled in Geneva, the lion brand is now ready to bring it fully to market and, despite its subtler, sportier look and more advanced technology, the 208 will continue to be defined by its good value for money, something backed up by the €13,200 that Peugeot asks for the entry-level variant.

The French compact arrives hungry to take on the Volkswagen Polo, Ford Fiesta and SEAT Ibiza, three of the big benchmarks in the segment. However, thanks to that price and the variety of options within the 208’s engine range, it is a car that should feel very much at home in the Spanish market, where every one of its generations has enjoyed resounding success.

Five trim levels will be available for the new Peugeot 208, each unlocking different engines and equipment packs. Like, Active, Allure, GT Line and GT are the names used for the levels the lion brand offers to configure the compact according to taste, needs and budget.

Starting with the Like trim, the starting price is €13,200, paired with a 75 CV PureTech engine. If we opt for the Active trim, we get the same engine plus a more powerful PureTech unit producing 100 CV, which can be combined with an EAT8 automatic gearbox. The starting price for this trim is €14,200, although the real news lies in the electric variant available with the 208 Active, which costs €29,850.

The Allure trim is built around both petrol and diesel engines of 100 CV, a more powerful 130 CV PureTech and the option to choose the electric version again. The 208 with this trim costs €16,800, rising to €18,700 with the GT Line, which offers the same range of engines.

If we choose the Peugeot 208 GT, the total outlay is €34,800, since it is only offered in the 100% electric version. In this way, the French compact arrives on the Spanish market with force and a clear intention to win over buyers, with the electric powertrain and its diesel and petrol options being the main attractions that will charm potential customers.
