The new Skoda Kamiq makes its debut with two new images

The new Skoda Kamiq comes with the aim of carving out a place within the Skoda SUV family and, above all, among the compact crossovers from rival brands. And to achieve this, its bold, aggressive design will be the key.

Thanks to the two new sketches presented today by Skoda, we can see the basic lines of the design that the production model will offer. An intermediate step between the Skoda Vision X prototype that previewed its arrival and the final version.

Before we see its final look, which will happen between 5 and 17 March at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, the Czech brand shows us what the image of the new Skoda Kamiq will be like.

A car that will do everything possible to be part of the best SUVs of 2019, as it will go on sale later this year.

A new design for Skoda

Nuevo Skoda Kamiq

In addition to presenting a smaller SUV than the Skoda Kodiaq and Skoda Karoq, this new car offers an innovative look while maintaining a brand identity that leaves no doubt that it is a Skoda.

To achieve this, design has been one of the top priorities for this car. On the one hand, the new front end features distinctive headlight units. Two independent light points between the daytime running lights and the main lights. For the first time, dynamic indicators will also be included here.

The front end stands out for its central grille “made in Skoda”. Below it, a lower air intake sits on a very “off-road” spoiler that could end up on the model sold at dealerships.

Furthermore, the angular cuts under the headlights sharpen the already narrowed gaze created by the headlights themselves. This, together with the ribs on the bonnet, gives rise to a rugged yet refined and very attractive look.

Skoda Kamiq 2019

The new Skoda Kamiq shows dynamism. Its muscular lines give it an athletic stance, like an adventurous SUV, which suits the multifunctional spirit of this crossover, which likes to step out of its comfort zone, the asphalt, from time to time to explore new paths.

To this end, the raised seating position will improve the visibility of its occupants. In its design, this is achieved with a very high lower window line. The narrowness of the windows, together with the slanted A and C pillars and, consequently, the rake of the tailgate glass, give its side profile a very dynamic character.

The rear brings this assessment to a masterful conclusion. It completes the image of a new car, at the forefront of design, using simple, clean and tangential lines. These sketches are, we hope, largely realised in a car that, beyond the SUV trend, is as attractive as the one proposed by these two teasers.
