The new Toyota GRMN Yaris is lighter and will be limited to 500 units

The Japanese brand has unveiled the new Toyota GRMN Yaris at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. This model will be a limited edition and only 500 units will be produced. If you’re looking for even more exclusivity, you can opt for one of the 50 units of the Circuit package. This version is painted in the striking Matte Steel

This new generation of the Toyota GRMN Yaris is up to 20 kilograms lighter than its predecessor. In addition, its height has been reduced while its width has been increased with the aim of improving aerodynamics. It also comes as standard with a mechanical LSD. It features four-wheel drive, a close-ratio gearbox and a six-speed manual transmission. The brand itself has pointed out that the model now allows for faster driving with greater composure.

The new Toyota GRMN Yaris is powered by a three-cylinder engine capable of delivering 268 CV and 390 Nm of maximum torque. The 20 kg weight reduction has been achieved by removing the rear seats. In addition, the bonnet, roof and rear spoiler are now made of lightweight carbon fibre. Notably, spot welds have been increased, with 545 more than the Toyota GR Yaris.

Drivers who want to enjoy the city on track can opt for the Circuit Package, which includes 18-inch wheels, a side skirt and a spoiler that enhances the styling. It also features a rear wing, larger brakes and improved suspension with adjustable Bilstein dampers.

If rallying is your thing, Toyota offers a higher-riding version with a GR roll bar, mudguards and dampers with short stabiliser links. You can choose these parts at the time of purchase, while the Circuit Package will be a factory option.

The Toyota GRMN Yaris could start at around €60,000, while the Toyota GRMN Yaris Circuit Package will have a starting price of around €74,000. The Rally Package option could start at around €73,000.
