The OMODA 5 SHS-H is a hybrid (HEV) that joins the rest of the range and is already available in Spain
The OMODA 5 expands its offering with the SHS-H hybrid (HEV) version, which is already on sale in Spain with an attractive starting price

OMODA is one of those Chinese brands that has managed to make a very good start in the European market and more specifically in Spain too, all thanks to a varied range of models with different engine configurations, and an example of this is the model we are dealing with today, the OMODA 5, which was restyled a year ago and which, a few days later, we were able to test for all of you.
The OMODA 5 has already been on sale in the Spanish market for some time, and until now we could buy it with a 145 CV petrol combustion engine, a power output that was reduced from 185 CV when it was restyled last year, or in the fully electric version, which uses a motor that produces 204 CV of power. Now this range is being expanded, in OMODA’s drive to offer a multi-energy line-up for its models, with the hybrid (HEV) version called SHS-H.

The major difference between the OMODA 5 SHS-H and its siblings in the catalogue lies under the bonnet, where you will find the Super Hybrid System state-of-the-art hybrid powertrain, made up of the efficient 1,600 cc petrol engine with 143 CV and a maximum torque of 215 Nm, and the DHT transmission with two electric motors, one acting as the drive motor and the other as the generator, delivering 150 kW of power and 315 Nm of torque. This combination results in a combined system output of 224 CV and 295 Nm of torque.

Part of this hybrid system is the lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 1.83 kWh, which OMODA guarantees for 8 years or 160,000 km. This hybrid set allows the OMODA 5 SHS-H to certify an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 175 km/h, all with a modest fuel consumption of just 5.3 l/100 km and emissions of 120 g/km under the WLTP cycle. Obviously, being a hybrid system, it qualifies for the ECO label and is also exempt from the registration tax.

From here on, the OMODA 5 SHS-H is exactly the same as the combustion-engine or fully electric versions, offering an SUV close to 4,500 mm in length, with lines and a design that resemble the language the brand has also implemented on other models such as the OMODA 7 and 9, to which we must add the changes introduced last year, such as the new daytime running lights with Sharp Blade design, along with the refined rear light cluster and the discreet roof spoiler.

The OMODA 5 SHS-H will be sold in Spain in only two trim levels, the entry-level one for this version being the Pure, which includes the following elements as standard equipment:
