The Opel Grandland GSe will deliver 296 CV thanks to its plug-in hybrid powertrain
The Opel Grandland GSe will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain with 296 CV of power and 520 Nm of maximum torque.

Opel is expanding its performance-focused electrified range with the addition of the Grandland GSe alongside the recently unveiled Astra GSe. The new flagship of the C-SUV adds no extra power over the standard AWD PHEV powertrain, which delivers 296 CV, but it features a sportier chassis setup for improved handling and minor visual tweaks to set it apart from the rest of the lineup.
The Grandland GSe communicates its athletic character with 19-inch wheels inspired by the Manta GSe concept, a new diffuser and the GSe badge on the tailgate. A black bonnet is optional, matching the gloss black details on the badge, the bumper air intakes, the skid plate, the mirror caps, the roof, the spoiler, the rear valance and the alloy wheels. As with the refreshed Grandland, the GSe features body-coloured plastic cladding around the body, LED lighting and the iconic Opel Visor grille. Inside, there is a pair of AGR-certified sports seats upholstered in Alcantara, which add more support with heavier headrests without sacrificing comfort.

The SUV also gets a GSe-specific suspension and steering calibration. Engineers at Russelsheim fitted firmer springs and new Koni FSD (frequency selective damping) dampers to the McPherson struts at the front and the multi-link rear axle. Opel claims the sportier chassis improves responsiveness, predictability and stability under heavy braking, through corners and at high speeds on the Autobahn.
The Grandland GSe uses the same all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid powertrain as the Grandland Hybrid4. It consists of a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, an eight-speed automatic gearbox, a battery and two electric motors, which together produce 296 CV and 520 Nm of maximum torque. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 235 km/h.
Opel has not announced the price of the Grandland GSe, but it is safe to assume it will be the highest-spec model yet in its SUV range.
