It may not seem important, but the topic of the acquisition of Opel by PSA is very recent, and this model was already fully prepared before that. However, it has become a milestone for the brand, since it is the first model presented under the umbrella of the French group. But that is not the most important thing. The Opel Insignia Sport Tourer is the estate of the range, and in this second generation it clearly improves on its predecessor.

The Insignia is a very elegant and attractive saloon, with a lot to offer its driver. For example, with a reduction of up to 200 kilos in total weight compared with the current generation, better performance and lower consumption are achieved. This has been made possible by a new architecture that uses lighter materials and a design conceived with this reduction in mind.

On the exterior, the styling stands out for moving away from the straight lines typical of conventional estates. Moreover, as it is a car designed for families, the boot capacity has been increased, which will serve its purpose very well. It offers 100 litres more than the current model, reaching 1,640 litres of capacity, which will help carry bulkier loads.

One of the features included in this new version is new functions for the Opel OnStar system, the connectivity system fitted to the brand’s models. Thanks to these new functions, users can even book restaurants and hotels from inside their Opel, saving time and improving efficiency in managing their schedule. The Insignia’s connectivity will also allow up to seven devices to connect to the car’s Wi-Fi, which is very practical for family trips.

As for traction, the Opel Insignia Sport Tourer achieves all-wheel drive with torque vectoring. It also has three driving modes, Normal, Sport and Tour, which allow the best performance to be obtained for each type of terrain. Inside, the cabin is very similar to that of the saloon version, with very attractive equipment that offers greater safety and efficiency when driving. Orders for this model can already be placed at the brand’s dealerships.
