The Opel KARL is now available on the Spanish market

Opel begins selling its city car, the KARL in Spain this month. The German brand is already accepting reservations and will start delivering the first units in July. Although the model was announced at the end of 2014, it was not until the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015 that we were able to see it up close and tell you more about the product.
The KARL replaces the Agila as Opel’s economy vehicle in the A-segment. It also differs from the ADAM, which is more focused on the premium market, in its slightly shorter body -it is two centimetres shorter in length- and its five-door layout or the additional seat in its interior, among other features.

This model is sold with a single Ecotec petrol engine of one litre displacement and 75 horsepower. Designed for the KARL and adjusted to Euro 6 regulations, it is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox with which it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.9 seconds, reaches a top speed of 170 km/h, consumes 4.5 l/100 km of fuel and emits 104 g/km of CO2.
The range of trim levels is likewise reduced to a single finish called Selective. It comes as standard with exterior elements in body colour, ABS, ESP with hill start assist, airbags for driver and passenger, front, side and curtain, a tyre pressure monitor, driver’s seat and multifunction steering wheel height-adjustable, cruise control, air conditioning, front electric windows and radio with Bluetooth, auxiliary input and USB.

From autumn 2015 onwards, the KARL may optionally be fitted with the IntelliLink system compatible with Google’s Android Auto and Apple’s CarPlay technologies. It will therefore be one of the first A-segment city cars to offer this option to customers.
The Opel KARL is on sale at a recommended price of 10,910 euros. The figure includes VAT and registration and transport taxes.
