Opel Zafira Comerciales Family Furgonetas
The Opel Zafira is now also available with a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 180 CV
The diesel engine of the Opel Zafira has been upgraded to a 2.2-litre unit producing 180 CV, which will also be available for the Vivaro

If we are looking for a family car or simply a larger vehicle with plenty of space as an alternative to SUVs, brands such as Opel offer interesting proposals like the Zafira, a model that in its latest generation can be chosen in two body styles of different sizes and, if we want a more sustainable alternative, is also available in a fully electric version.
Until now, if we opted for the combustion engine for the Opel Zafira, we could only choose it with the 2,000 cc turbo diesel engine producing 180 CV. This engine is now removed from the range and replaced by an evolution of this unit, a turbo diesel engine that now displaces 2,200 cc and delivers the same power of 180 CV, together with a torque of 400 Nm sent to the front axle through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

This engine, thanks to a new-generation direct injection system combined with an optimised exhaust gas recirculation system, reduces fuel consumption compared with its predecessor, as well as CO2 emissions by 13%, thereby complying with the Euro 6e European standard. These changes will not affect its well-known characteristics: it is an engine with a continuous response and a pleasant, smooth transmission feel, together with an acceleration to 100 km/h in 10.6 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.
The new diesel engine of the Opel Zafira will continue to be linked to the two body options offered by the German brand, that is, in its standard body with a length of 4,980 mm or in the XL body with a length of 5,330 mm. The same applies to the trim levels regardless of the body chosen, with the entry-level trim, also called Zafira, or the most complete one, called GS, available. It is worth noting that the electric version also offers the same configuration of bodies and trims.

Finally, it should also be said that the Opel Vivaro, the professional version of the Zafira, also adds this new 2.2 diesel engine of 180 CV to its range, which can also be chosen alongside the other diesel engine of 150 CV, although the latter allows pairing with a six-speed manual gearbox or the eight-speed automatic.
