The Peugeot 207 Plus Eco Gpl presented for the Italian market

The Peugeot 207 Plus GLP Eco has begun sales in Italy, in three-door and five-door versions, with the 1.4 bifuel engine. Italy is one of the most developed countries in bifuel infrastructure in Europe.

Unfortunately, the Italian market has shown the same kind of steep decline as the rest of the European markets. However, the consumption of alternative fuels is rising more than anywhere else; at the end of October 2012, alternative fuel accounted for almost 21% of the total registered in the B-segment, with monthly volume almost doubled since the beginning of the year.

In such a scenario, it is not difficult for brands to start thinking that gas is the only good option, both in times of crisis and in times of prosperity; Peugeot has been present in this area with the 206 Plus, which will end its run at the end of the year, and now does so with the 207 Plus GLP Eco version.

The 207 Plus GLP Eco will be available with three-door and five-door bodies and with the 1.4 engine of 75 horsepower in dual fuel, petrol and LPG. The equipment will be the same as the current Energie version, although the Tecno pack (dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, hands-free kit, USB, cruise control and speed limiter) can be added for an extra 510 euros.

Although the entry-level three-door version costs more than 13,000 euros in the country of the boot, it will be offered at a starting price of 10,350 euros, provided the buyer chooses to purchase it through one of the scrappage schemes and purchase incentives currently in force in Italy.

Curioso la buena salida que tienen los combustibles alternativos en Italia.
