The Peugeot Traveller will enable greater adventures with the new 4x4 Edition version
The Peugeot Traveller expands its family with the 4×4 version, which will allow us greater adventures, whether with the family thanks to its capability or alone

Of the models in the Peugeot lineup, the Traveller is the one that offers the greatest capacity for trips with a large family, perfectly suitable for daily use as well, and which will also allow for adventures alone or with a companion. It is precisely this last group, the most adventurous, who may get the most out of the new version of the Traveller: the 4×4 Edition.
The Peugeot Traveller 4×4 has been prepared, as is customary within the PSA Group, by Dangel, a developer of 4×4 transmissions, which has also been responsible for giving Peugeot Traveller its adventurous touch. The Traveller 4×4 features elements that set it apart from the other versions, mainly the components that protect the gearbox, the engine and the rear axle, as well as a ground clearance of 200 mm, so that it can tackle even the most difficult terrain.
The transmission used by Dangel in this Traveller 4×4 uses a viscous coupling, a limited-slip differential and rear differential lock. This transmission operates automatically and progressively, so it requires no intervention from the driver: when one of the two wheels loses grip, the differential engages to provide that extra traction, while the differential lock allows us to overcome greater obstacles.

Thanks to this, we can venture off the tarmac, but this is something that happens at all times, so when we are on the road or, for example, driving in the city, we can reduce fuel consumption by using the Eco2WD function. With this function the transmission disconnects completely in favour of front-wheel drive, thus improving consumption and polluting emissions.
In terms of mechanics, Peugeot has decided that the Traveller 4×4 will be paired with the BlueHDi 150 S&S engine, the second most powerful option, linked to a six-speed manual gearbox. This engine has a displacement of 2,000 cc and delivers 150 CV; consumption figures have not been revealed yet, but for reference, the basic version of this engine has a combined consumption of 5.3 litres per 100 km.
Finally, it should be said that in addition to the Traveller 4×4, which will join the rest of the Peugeot all-wheel-drive family, the Partner model will also include the 4×2 Trek and 4×4 Extreme versions. Both will have 60 mm of extra ground clearance, with reinforced underbodies to avoid any unpleasant surprises; in addition, the 4×2 Trek version will ensure good off-road behaviour thanks to its limited-slip front differential.
