The Porsche 911 GT3 debuts the Touring Pack, more discreet and just as powerful

Following the presentation of the 911 GT3, the Stuttgart brand has launched the ‘Touring’ version, which features a more understated look but with all its power.

The Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the most powerful and impressive variants of the model, not to mention the most striking. Its look is powerful, and dominating it is the large rear wing that helps keep this supercar under control. But there was still one version missing from this new generation of the model: the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring.

This variant was very successful in the previous version, so the Stuttgart brand wanted fans of this model to be able to enjoy it in its most up-to-date version. And in this case, all the power of the 911 GT3 is retained but with a more restrained look.

A softened look

The exterior design is softened, since the massive rear wing featured on the regular model has been removed. In its place, a wing that deploys once a certain speed is reached, performing the same function but in a much more discreet way. The exterior look is complemented by the aluminium trim framing the windows, which gives the variant a distinctive appearance compared to other models in the same range.

The exhaust also features the same type of finish, reinforcing that different image. In this incarnation, the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring offers many options, both unique and common to the rest of the range. Black-trimmed elements, tinted front light clusters and other options allow the car to be personalised to the buyer’s taste.

Touring spirit

The term Touring originates from an equipment variant for the 911 Carrera RS, based on the model’s purist style and classic elements for the cabin. Porsche revived this concept in 2017 and offered a version of the previous generation 991 GT3. Now it is reused and updated to offer a more current version that stands out from the rest.

This variant is equipped with a six-speed GT manual gearbox, offering the classic driving sensation that many fans of the brand seek. Despite this, it also can be fitted with the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox at no additional cost, according to the driver’s preference.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring comes with an extra. Buyers will also receive a watch based on the model, and for which they can choose from six different straps. Everything about it recalls the model and is quite impressive.

Engine of the 911 GT3 Touring

The Porsche 911 GT3 uses a 4.0-litre six-cylinder flat engine producing 510 CV. This engine has been adapted from the 911 GT3 R. The independent double-wishbone front suspension and the rear diffuser come from the 911 RSR GT, bringing together the best of each of these models.

It weighs 1,418 kg with the manual gearbox and 1,435 kg with the automatic gearbox. The carbon fibre construction, the use of lightweight glass in the windows, the forged alloy wheels and the lightweight exhaust help keep the weight down, making this a car to enjoy on track and on the road.

The price of the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring is 196,081 euros.
