One of Porsche’s most successful models debuts its third generation at Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, where we were finally able to see the new Porsche Cayenne. The SUV from the German luxury brand, which was launched in 2002, has been redesigned to adapt to the new needs of drivers and features not only a new look, but a more complete and attractive technological equipment.

This third generation of the Porsche Cayenne offers better connectivity and equipment, but thanks to the new chassis and the materials used in its construction, it weighs about 65 kilos less than its predecessor. Accompanied by “Sinfonie des Lebens” by Jesse Milliner performed by live musicians and a group of dancers in support, the new Cayenne was unveiled to the audience present at the Porsche Museum, demonstrating that the bet on a vehicle that departed from the brand’s tradition was the right one at the time and still is today.

In addition to the most obvious changes, which this new generation has sought to emphasize, there is a new chassis, more practical and lighter, as well as the incorporation of the Porsche Advance Cockpit in the interior, with a touchscreen and far more effective connectivity than in previous versions. With this, the brand’s goal has been achieved: enhancing the model to a point it had never reached before.

The model will feature two petrol engines. The first will be a six-cylinder engine, 3.0 litres and 320 CV, while the second, which will equip the Cayenne S, will be a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, offering 440 CV and capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in under five seconds, with a top speed of 265 km/h. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed Triptonic S gearbox.

Other features of this model include tyres that differ between the front and rear axles, as well as a rear-steering axle, which helps maintain control of the vehicle. Standard all-wheel drive with Porsche 4D Chassis Control also improves the vehicle’s on-road behaviour, and three-chamber air suspension contributes to this. The Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), an electronic system that compensates for body roll, along with the new high-performance Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB) brakes coated with a tungsten carbide carbon layer, complete the car’s new features, which will soon be available at the brand’s dealerships.

The price set for the Cayenne version in Spain is 87,579 euros, while the Cayenne S will have a total price of 107,127 euros.
