The Porsche Macan basic, now more attractive with the Soul pack
Porsche enhances the appeal of the entry-level version of the Macan range with the comprehensive Soul equipment package, which includes decorative details and technical elements such as PASM suspension.
If you’re going to buy a “basic” Porsche Macan, make your bank account pay for it and at least make sure it comes in Soul trim. Because if after reading the road test of the Porsche Macan GTS you’ve been left wanting a sporty SUV but don’t want to dig deep into your pocket to get the best Macan in the range, the new Soul pack gives the basic Macan enough arguments to be considered a purchase option.

First, as is usually the case in these situations, because buying all the components of the Soul pack separately would cost far more than the price of the bundled package. Second, because if you don’t need more performance than the 2.0-litre engine with 245 CV provides, this is your car.
A not-so-basic Porsche Macan
Let’s start from the premise that the least powerful Macan isn’t so basic, given the good performance of the four-cylinder engine, paired with the PDK dual-clutch gearbox, which can accelerate the Macan from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds (6.5 with the Sport Chrono pack) and reach a top speed of 225 km/h.

The Soul pack adds a panoramic sunroof, 21-inch wheels in the Sport Classic design, LED headlights, a rear parking camera and an electrically operated tailgate.
Inside, the upgrades include heated black leather seats, Apple CarPlay with Siri voice recognition, three-zone automatic climate control, lane departure warning system, ambient lighting package, the Audi Plus equipment package, and the Porsche Communication Management PCM connectivity system, with its 10.9-inch touchscreen.
In addition to the decorative, comfort and connectivity elements, another important addition is the variable-hardness damping Porsche Active Suspension Management.

The final price of the Porsche Macan with the Soul pack is 76,900 euros, which means roughly 9,750 euros more. Not bad for everything it includes. The catch? The final price even exceeds that of the basic Porsche Macan S, which doesn’t come with as much equipment but swaps the 245 CV four-cylinder under the bonnet for a 354 CV V6. Now it’s up to you to choose between equipment and performance.
